More Partnership appoints Marc Whitmore as Managing Partner
18 December 2025
Former UpRising CEO returns to lead employee-owned consultancy into next growth phase
We are thrilled to welcome Marc Whitmore as our new Managing Partner, leading the firm into its next phase of growth and innovation. He succeeds Interim Managing Partner, Amit Aggarwal, and a smooth handover is already underway to ensure continuity for our clients.
Marc re-joined us earlier this year after nearly five years as Chief Executive of UpRising, a national youth leadership charity. He previously spent a decade at More Partnership, working with a wide range of clients - from Oxford and Cambridge colleges to the University of Helsinki, the Design Museum, and US-based Climate Central - and played a key role in our transition to employee ownership.
Marc’s appointment comes at a time when organisations are asking increasingly sophisticated questions about the role philanthropy can play in achieving long-term impact. As fundraising strategies grow more complex, institutions are seeking advice that combines strategic clarity, organisational insight, and a deep understanding of donor motivation. Increasingly, they are seeking advice rooted in evidence and lived experience, rather than opinion alone.
At More Partnership we help universities, hospitals, schools, arts and cultural organisations, and charities develop their fundraising strategies, plan campaigns, and grow their philanthropic impact. Since our founding in 1989 we’ve supported clients across the UK and internationally, bringing over 30 years of experience to help organisations achieve their ambitious philanthropic goals.
Nik Miller, Board Partner, said:
“We were looking for a Managing Partner who understands what makes More Partnership distinctive, while also bringing the leadership experience needed for the next phase of the firm’s development. Marc combines a deep understanding of More Partnership’s culture and client work with a proven track record of leading a national charity through significant change, as we continue to grow the firm’s impact, capability and reach.”
As an employee-owned firm, we’re proud that everyone advising our clients is directly invested in the long-term quality, independence, and impact of our work. This means we can make decisions that put our clients’ success first, rather than focusing on short-term commercial gain.
Marc Whitmore said:
“More has always believed that the best advice comes from consultants who are genuinely invested in their clients’ success, and in each other. As an employee-owned firm, that belief is reflected not only in our values, but in how we are structured and how we work. I am proud to take on this role at the heart of a team of exceptional colleagues, and excited about the impact we will help clients achieve as they become more ambitious about the role philanthropy can play.”
We’re looking forward to growing our team in 2026 to meet the increasing demand for strategic philanthropy advice.
