Maarten Vervaat elected Managing Partner

16 September 2022

We are delighted that Maarten Vervaat has been elected as Managing Partner at More Partnership, with effect from October 2022.

Prior to joining More in in 2018, Maarten spent two decades in leadership positions at Higher Education institutions in the Netherlands, Cyprus and France. With More, he has supported institutions such as the Institut Pasteur, VU Amsterdam, EDHEC Business School, UNICEF UK, Aiglon College and CASE Europe – through fundraising and campaign counsel, strategic advice and interim management. Thriving in diverse geographical and cultural environments, Maarten has led and advised teams ranging from start-ups in smaller organisations to large departments in comprehensive universities.

Maarten will work with partners and associates across the More community to realise our new strategy, Advancing great ambitions together. Building on his wide experience as a manager and consultant, Maarten will continue to ensure everyone at More can thrive, grounded in our values and purpose; and alongside the role he will also continue to commit time to supporting international clients.

Maarten said “I am delighted to take the baton from Nik as we advance our ambitions as an employee-owned organisation. If there were any silver linings to the crises of the last two years, I’ve found them in the resilience and creativity of charities, educational and cultural institutions. As More Partnership grows its outreach in the UK, Europe and beyond, it is a privilege to support this exceptional community of colleagues and clients, transforming lives and society through the power of philanthropy.”

The appointment follows four years of dedicated service in this role from Nik Miller. During this time, alongside continued client work around the world, Nik has led the company in its most prolific year to date, managed our transition to an employee-owned company, and worked closely with the whole community at More to navigate the pandemic with care and resilience. Following his decision to step down from the Managing Partner role, he will return to focusing fully on delivering impact with clients from October.

Nik added: “This been a remarkable time of transition and growth for More. It has been an honour to have played an important leadership role at this time, and I will be forever grateful to the whole community for their support, advice and companionship. In this next chapter, as we continue to collaborate with clients to tackle the most pressing and complex issues of our time, Maarten will undoubtedly guide us all with his wonderful combination of thoughtfulness, pragmatism and expertise.”
